Peter does not wish to admonish Savonius, but points to the Bible verse that will guide Savonius.
I think this verse is the beginning of a change in Savonius that takes him from a Preacher to Pastor. Of course, we don't like to be labeled as sinners, so that's the challenge... to accept God's verdict on our sinfulness. Jesus suffered with us but also BECAUSE of us. His grace goes beyond welcome to saving those like you and me who are ENEMIES of God in our natural selves. The "turning back" does entail repentance -- but we don't need to wait until we get "cleaned up" to serve God. All he asks is a repentant "turned back" heart that is open to what God's love wants to do in us. Peace to you in JESUS' name.Steve Thorsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17378015932917535496noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1344424071192264900.post-82350118791919329662009-12-22T09:14:26.602-06:002009-12-22T09:14:26.602-06:00Wow, thanks for sharing that. It is exciting to be part of it and my prayer is that EVERYONE will feel welcomed into this community of Christ, regardless of their warts. Secondly, for those in pain to know that others are willing to suffer through the tough times with them is very much what Christ did and very much what His community is here for. Praise God.

God Bless and Merry Christmas,
Mike LawyerAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
